Spaces and Places
Our students are loving the new spaces to learn and work. It is rare for all students in a single class to be in the same space for the entire 90 minutes, as students are figuring out how they work best and where they are most comfortable. One of the most popular study spots seems to be the small collaboration rooms overlooking the courtyard. They are great for small groups to work together without outside interruptions or distractions, and nobody can argue with that view! Students are also enjoying the comfortable seating in the commons area and are finding that productivity is not limited to desks and hard seating.
Students are also enjoying the variety within their classrooms. Flexible furniture, high-top tables/chairs, and the ability to open the wall and connect two classes at once increases students' ability to collaborate across classes, work in spaces in which they are comfortable, and meet easily with teachers for support. The result? Happier, more focused students and energized, invigorated teachers.
